Everything you need
to own your focus

Velance combines OS-level tracking, rich analytics, and AI coaching into one lightweight app that just runs.

01

Ambient Activity Tracking

No timers. Velance silently monitors every app and browser tab you use, automatically sorting screen time into Productive, Supporting, Unclear, or Distracting categories in real time.

02

AI-Powered Focus Coaching

Powered by Gemini AI, personalized coaching cards surface warnings before burnout hits — advising break timing, highlighting fatigue patterns, and predicting focus drop-offs. Works fully offline too.

03

Rich Analytics Dashboard

Dynamic charts reveal daily focus averages, distraction totals, and session counts. Peak-hours detection automatically identifies when your brain operates at its sharpest — calculated from real behavior.

04

Focus Sessions & Pomodoro

Structured Pomodoro-style sessions with live UI feedback. Every distraction during a session is logged with a timestamp — so you can see exactly what broke your flow and plan around it.

05

Tasks & Habit Tracking

Link daily tasks to long-term habits for hierarchical progress tracking. Habit heatmaps visualize streaks and target minutes over weeks — making consistency patterns immediately visible.

06

Browser Extension Bridge

An optional Chrome and Edge extension gives Velance full context on your browser tabs — beyond just "Chrome is open" to knowing exactly which site or video is pulling your attention away.

Common questions,
honest answers

Yes, completely. Velance is free to download and use with no subscription, no freemium gate, and no hidden paywalls. It is open-source and always will be. The only optional cost is if you choose to use your own Gemini API key for AI coaching — which is also free up to generous usage limits.
Yes — Velance is built offline-first. All activity tracking, analytics, and focus sessions work entirely without internet. The AI coaching also has a fully engineered local rule-based fallback that activates when you're offline or haven't configured an API key. The only features that need connectivity are the optional Supabase cloud sync and live AI coaching via Gemini.
Velance tracks the name of the currently active application, the window title, and — with the optional browser extension — the active browser tab URL. It also monitors keyboard and mouse activity to estimate focus intensity and fatigue. It does not record keystrokes, screenshots, audio, or anything you type. Only application-level metadata is captured.
Velance is designed to have near-zero CPU and memory impact. The ambient tracking loop runs at a low polling interval and is optimized to be non-disruptive. Gaming, video rendering, and other intensive workloads are fully compatible. Performance optimization on the tracking loop is an active development priority for the v1.0 release.
All your data is stored in a local SQLite database on your own machine — no external servers involved by default. Cloud backup via Supabase is completely optional and requires your explicit setup. Velance has no telemetry, no analytics pipeline, and no data is ever sold to third parties. Your productivity data is 100% yours.
No. You can use all core features — tracking, analytics, focus sessions, and offline AI coaching — without creating any account. A Google account is only required if you want to enable the optional cloud sync feature to back up your data across devices.
No. Velance includes a built-in local rule-based coaching system that requires no API key and works fully offline. For richer, more personalized advice, you can optionally plug in your own free Gemini API key (available at Google AI Studio). The free tier has generous limits and is more than sufficient for daily use.
Velance requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit). No additional runtimes or dependencies are needed — everything is bundled in the installer. macOS and Linux support may be considered for future releases.
